Architectural and structural engineering services:
Work on a basement project begins with the survey, and we have experienced structural engineers to advise on the feasibility, size, costs, planning and design of your proposed basement conversion. We employ RIBA architects to produce detailed drawings and to ensure that your basement design is both innovative and practical, and constructed to be technically safe and sound.
Ground works and Underpinning:
For a new basement formation, the actual build process involves excavation and removal of earth, followed by underpinning the area below the property. We then support the foundations with concrete below the existing boundaries, and gradually lower the floor level. We drain the area of water into the existing drainage system and then use a waterproof membrane system to damp proof the perimeter of the basement shell. All work is fully guaranteed and insured.
Solid Foundations and Insulation:
Once protected from moisture, the whole basement area is ready to be insulated with solid panels on the walls and floors. The floor is finished with a heavy duty plastic and floor screed so it is structurally sound. First fix electrics, plumbing, pipe-work and refurbishment can then be done.
